Mexihco…The Journey Continues
“Mexihco” is a visual and performing arts production depicting historical events that begins in ancient times with the Mayan Culture running through a timeline leading to the Mexican Revolution. Through music, dance and theater we translate important influences such as “identity”, “cultural education” and “community representation”.
In accomplishing a stronger awareness of who we are, CULTURAL EDUCATION is an ele- ment to our project that resonates with our community. This project addresses cultural edu- cation by focusing on the visual and performing arts, and thus building on and further devel- oping knowledge and meaning of its music, costumes, steps and movements. Also, historical overview of the material presented on stage with general breakdown of the story.
Due to COVID-19 shutdown, we were not able to have the 2020 production, but very much looking forward for 2021. The tentative date for 2021 production is Saturday August 21st at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
